Use the online links
section to provide a list of useful internet links for background, supplementary information, etc. In many formal metadata standards links either cannot be included or are not differentiated from plain text in other sections, so it’s best to collect them here.

Graphic Summary¶
These fields can be used to document one or more official, preferred, or especially informative illustrations, plots, or visualizations of the dataset.

Supplemental Info¶
This field can include anything that doesn’t belong in the abstract or is not related to the purpose of the research. Include any information that is important for understanding or using the data but doesn’t fit into the previous sections.
Metadata Info¶
These fields provide information about the person or position responsible for creating and maintaining the metadata record itself, the planned update frequency of the metadata, and any notes about any conditional or required updates to the metadata.

Metadata File Identifier |
Use this field to add the specific, unique identifier that may have been applied to the metadata record (as opposed to the dataset). These identifiers are usually applied once a dataset has been archived or a metadata record has been published in a catalog. In most cases, your record won’t have one of these until after you’ve passed it on to DataONE or another archive. |

Enter contact information for the individual, position, or organization designated as the point of contact for questions about the metadata. |

Metadata Update Frequency |
Select the frequency code value from the dropdown that most closely matches any plans for how regularly any maintenance services or content updates will be applied to the metadata. |

Metadata Maintenance Contact |
This field should provide name and contact information for the person(s) or organizational position(s) responsible for future maintenance or any updates to the metadata. |

Metadata Update Notes |
Use this field to describe any planned maintenance or updates to the metadata content, as well as any effects of those updates on the applicability or validity of the existing metadata |
Annual updates to the metadata will be made to reflect annual data updates and any changes to the collection procedures. |
